As a reminder please adhere to the following requirements when submitting motor vehicle forms.
NY State Specific (Plate Transfers)
In NY when transferring license plates from one vehicle to another, they track coverage based on reporting of the original vehicle. Once a vehicle is dropped from a policy it is automatically reported to the NY DMV. PLM needs to be notified if there is a replacement vehicle to avoid a suspension notice.
All States (Registered Name)
When vehicles are reported to the states DMV’s it is reported under the name the policy was bound under. If the name on the registration differs from the Named Insured, please notify our Motor Carrier team to process accordingly. PLM does not report vehicle coverage under individual names or under any names not listed as an additional insured on the policy.
All States (Registered State)
All vehicle coverages are automatically reported to the state in which the vehicle is garaged in per the policy, if there is a case where a vehicle is registered in a different state than it is garaged in, please notify our Motor Carrier team. This allows us to manually report to the registered state DM, avoiding any suspension notices or traffic tickets.
