As we approach the season of giving, it is the perfect time to reflect on the important role charitable giving plays in our communities.
At PLM, charitable giving and volunteerism is a cornerstone of our company. We’ve implemented year-round philanthropy efforts to help our communities and strengthen our company culture. We see charitable giving as a means to make a positive impact on the communities we serve, to strengthen employee morale, and to engage in a natural extension of our mission: Showing up for people in their times of need.
Giving back has many benefits, from helping underserved communities to cultivating workplace culture and even to attracting talent. When philanthropy is driven by a strong purpose and mission, employees are more engaged and business thrives.
Throughout the year, our team participates in various volunteer events and fundraisers. Our principal event is an annual month-long campaign with United Way in support of local charities. This year alone, we had 95% of our employees donating to United Way through payroll deductions and raised a total of $88,332 before company match.
Philanthropic success and business success go hand-in-hand. A culture of giving can be highly beneficial for workplace morale, employee retention, and brand reputation – not to mention the company’s surrounding community that benefits from the philanthropic efforts. At PLM, we’ve seen firsthand how regularly giving back strengthens our communities and our organization. By sharing our commitment, we hope to inspire other organizations to build their own culture of giving. Together we can create a meaningful difference and inspire lasting change.
