Kathleen Dalton
It is with deep regret that we share news of the sudden passing of PLM’s own, Kathleen Dalton, Assistant Vice President of Operations. Kathleen passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 9, 2021.
Since joining PLM in 2003, Kathleen’s steadfast commitment and dedication guided her rise in the organization. Starting as an Underwriting Assistant, Kathleen was later promoted to the role of Underwriter before entering a management development program in Operations.
Her professionalism and devotion to PLM, her team, and our customers and brokers, led to her appointment as Operations Manager before being promoted to Operations Director. She was later appointed by the Board of Directors to Assistant Vice President. Kathleen’s career course has served as a model example for the whole PLM team.
As AVP of Operations, Kathleen had long handled a challenging set of tasks to ensure our customers and brokers received timely and accurate service on their policies. Ever an insurance professional and well-rounded leader, she handled each challenge with our mutual mindset at her core – committed to putting our customers first. Whether you have worked with Kathleen directly or with the solid operations team that she built behind her leadership, it is her commitment and dedication that shined through in every interaction.
Kathleen was a member of the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (PAMIC) and was Chairperson of its Political Action Committee (PAMIC PAC). Annually, she lobbied in Washington D.C. on behalf of PLM and the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC).
On a personal note, Kathleen was a devoted family person, married to Joseph Ambrose whom she met at PLM and loving stepmother to Riley and Connor Ambrose. She had two dogs and a cat, whom she treated as valued members of her family. She loved spending time at Brigantine Beach, tending to her herb, vegetable, and flower gardens, and cooking. Kathleen spoke with pride about her whole family and valued time spent simply with them.
Kathleen’s loss is devastating to her family, her PLM family, and all that had the privilege to know her.
