Introducing ABM: Workers’ Comp Solutions for the Wood Niche
We are often asked by our broker partners if we write Workers’ Comp and we have long had to answer, “unfortunately, no”. That response is typically followed by the request for a recommended carrier, a request whose answer is as variable as the wood industry itself.
We encourage you to ask us again.
In response to our broker partners’ needs, we are pleased to introduce Allied Building Material Agency, Inc. (ABM), a member of the PLM Group. The agency, established in 1935, has lain dormant for many years while remaining fully licensed and operational. As you well know, in April of 2019, PLM acquired AmTrust North America’s book of wood business. With that acquisition PLM was fortunate to have Angelo Ganguzza, Vice President of AmTrust’s wood program, come on board. Angelo came to us with a strong background in brokerage management and Workers’ Compensation. With Angelo’s experience, we made the decision to officially rejuvenate the brokerage to allow PLM to be the one-stop insurance solution for the wood industry, and to develop and improve our relationships with independent brokers throughout the country.
Through ABM, we can assist our broker partners with placement of Workers’ Comp for nearly all types of wood business. We have been appointed with several A-rated national insurance carriers and will continuously monitor and expand our carrier relationships in order to make sure that we’re able to offer the best coverage through the best carriers to our customers based on our knowledge of their specific needs.
As the broker, you will maintain control over your clients’ accounts and continue your relationships with your trusted PLM contacts. By utilizing ABM for your clients’ Workers’ Comp needs, you will be able to decrease your acquisition costs and service your wood business clients faster, all with the continued support of PLM’s 125 years of experience insuring the wood and related building materials industries.
What’s needed for a quote:

When you send a wood business submission — be it retail, wholesale, manufacturing, or milling — to NewBiz@plmins.com, please make sure to include the Workers’ Comp submission items as well. Allow PLM to be your one-stop shop for all of your lumber and related building material clients.
