Pennsylvania Lumbermens Mutual Insurance Company (PLM), the largest mutual insurer dedicated to wood-related businesses, today announces its partnership with LifeSaver Mobile, a company dedicated to changing the culture of distracted driving. This partnership will introduce PLM policyholders to the LifeSaver app that is designed to lessen the frequency of phone-related distracted driving.
LifeSaver app runs silently in the background of drivers’ smartphones, tracking each attempt by drivers to use their phones. The information is stored on the dashboard, which displays real-time driver compliance. LifeSaver Mobile then generates a distracted driving score based on overall driver behavior, which fleet managers can use to assess their staff and determine at-risk drivers.
“We have found that the majority of distracted driving instances have been caused by irresponsible usage of mobile phones,” said Dan Braiman, Loss Control Manager. “We believe that this partnership with LifeSaver Mobile will provide PLM policyholders with an invaluable resource to improve fleet safety by discouraging drivers from picking up their mobile devices.”
