PLM maintains a sales force consisting of company Field Representatives, each with their own individual marketing territory.
They provide a wide variety of services to both our insureds, as well as our brokers.
Our Field staff is something that differentiates PLM from other carriers. We are very proud of this "value added" service and feel strongly about maintaining the advantages this brings to both our insureds, as well as our brokers.
Our Field Representatives provide a wide variety of services as outlined below:
- Our Field Representatives are "experts" in the insurance needs of the lumber and woodworking industry. Wood is all we do, so our knowledge of our insureds businesses is very specialized. Our expertise is what sets us apart from other standard lines insurance carriers.
- Due to our ties with the industry, our Representatives are familiar with most all wood and wood related businesses within their territory. If we don't write the business now, most likely we wrote it at one time or another in the past. Likewise, many lumber and woodworking businesses are already familiar with the PLM name.
- Our Field Representatives inspect the premises of all prospective insureds.
- Each Field Representative uses their industry expertise and first hand knowledge of an account to structure a competitive program tailored to the individual clients needs.
- Our Representatives visit their insureds once or twice a year to look at changes in exposures, provide loss control recommendations and to review coverages and answer any questions they may have regarding their insurance coverage.
- Each Field Representative attends local lumber and woodworking industry trade shows, outings, etc. to maintain involvement and close ties to the lumber and woodworking industry.
- Our Field Representatives meet with our Brokers on an ongoing basis to discuss current, as well as prospective clients. They are always prospecting for new brokers in their marketing territory to introduce PLM and what we do.
- Our Representatives attend local broker shows and outings to familiarize the local brokerage community with PLM and the market we can offer them (open brokerage).
